I’m back! Well, I never went away, really. I’ve racked up a number of bylines since 2015, and powered (staggered?) through a book proposal that’s now making the rounds. (Godspeed, little proposal! Somewhere out there is the perfect editor for you.)
I also spent the last two-and-a-half years on a tour of duty in the conservation world. I ran press for an environmental group in hopes of doing some small good for the wild world, which needs all the aid we can give it. I’ll stay involved in that work but on a more ad-hoc basis.

This month, I returned to the writing/editing world full-time.
Let me tell you: It feels great to be back. Instead of taking a staff job somewhere, I’m trying out the life of a independent writer/editor. I’ve long dreamed of that, and got a chance to make it happen. I’m editing a book project, and thinking my own freelance and book thoughts, and loving all of it. My blood pressure’s down, my optimism’s up. Let’s see what happens.
